“When a little girl plays with Barbie, imagine all that she can be…”
Barbie‘s campaign “You can be anything you want to be” invites children to dream what they want to be, to find their own way and to learn that with effort nothing is impossible.
In fact its creator, Ruth Handler, says: “In creating Barbie, my philosophy was that, through the doll, girls could become anything they wanted to be. Barbie has always represented a woman who chooses for herself”.
This was precisely the main objective of our latest Barbie activation in El Corte Inglés stores: to encourage children’s imagination and encourage them to realise that they can be anything they want to be, without limits.
The event, which took place in6 centres (in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Santander).
It had a stage of more than 25 square metres where the children could let their imagination run wild by choosing their favourite profession (among a total of 12 different ones) and developing games and activities related to it.
They ranged from real veterinarians who could take care of your pet, to scientists performing incredible experiments, to real singers with their guitar and microphone, among others.
In 20-25 minute sessions the children enjoyed games, pastimes, costumes, music, photos in a fun Barbie photocall that imitated the packaging of the famous dolls…and many more surprises.
All of them left the event full of gifts and great memories, and Grupo WDi encourages all participants to share their photos using the hashtag #túpuedesserloquequieras (youcanbewhatyouwant).
In addition to this event, it was held simultaneously in allEl Corte Inglés and Hipercor centres in Spain.
